Personality:
Jaune is awkward. Mostly this is when talking to girls, but really just in general he can be awkward to be around. That's probably one of the first things people pick up about what Jaune is like. This awkwardness stems from his just trying too hard around people. He wants to be a hero, a fighter, and seen as strong. However, in his attempts to look like the dashing hero, he usually just comes across as a giant dork. The good thing about Jaune though is that despite several failures, in several areas for that matter, he never truly gives up.

Jaune's saving grace is that he is very kindhearted. He's outgoing and friendly to everyone he meets and doesn't judge others quickly. He'll make friends fast, especially if he doesn't try to overthink it. Jaune has a natural charisma to him which is probably why he was selected to lead JNPR, despite his doubts. He does have a lot of confidence for a guy that faces failure, but that confidence is probably what leads to his failure in the first place. It's a vicious cycle. He's overly confident and that tends to blow up in his face more often than not -- which immediately leads to him deflating and sometimes spiraling into doubt and questions of his own abilities. With a little encouragement, however, Jaune is quick to pick back up and is usually better for it. If Jaune would just be natural and not try TOO hard, he'd be just fine most likely. While Jaune is an overeager, lovable goof, it's not what he wants to be known for.

Jaune is determined to prove himself as a leader and has a strong sense of responsibility to his team and those he calls friend. Jaune also has a strong sense of honor. Once he makes a promise to someone, you can trust him to keep it -- even if that means winding up in a dress at a big school dance. He's an honest soul and will tell people what they might not want to hear, but it comes from the heart. What also makes Jaune a good leader, though he might not realize it, is his need to protect others. He doesn't have a lot of high self-esteem for himself, but he will quickly jump into battle to defend another, especially a friend. He doesn't want to see others get hurt -- physically or emotionally -- and is quick to stand up for other people. He may let himself be a punching bag for bullies, but God help you if you drag his friends into the matter.

After the most recent events in his life, Jaune is a little more mature in his personality. He is more goal oriented and focused on the task at hand. Losing a member of his team has caused Jaune to take his responsibilities as leader more seriously. However, he is also struggling with the guilt he feels of not being able to help Pyrrha in her time of need. His inability to do anything still haunts him. Another major change is that Jaune is more cynical about things and not quite as trusting of others -- especially those he sees as having manipulated Pyrrha to take on the role of fall maiden. He blames himself for not being able to act and while he does internalize it, also tends to lash out at others for it as well (specifically when Qrow and not!Ozpin gets involved).

He's also dealt with a lot of his grief alone, going so far as to distance himself a bit from his former teammates in the fear that he would get them hurt as well, though a recent confrontation with Pyrhha's statute and conversation with Nora and Ren has led him to open up a bit more to their help and support. He has a better understanding of how much he is needed, something he has craved for a long time and is finally starting to feel like a contributing member to the group. On the positive side this has led him to gain a lot more confidence in himself and his abilities as he has survived a number of battles by this point -- even if he does still see himself as weaker than his teammates most of the time.

⯌ Core Values/Beliefs - At his core Jaune believes in making a difference and living up to the legacy that Pyrhha left with him and his team. He wants to be the kind of person Pyrrha would be proud to call her friend and most of his growth as a person is tied to her influence -- even now that she's dead. One of the things that comes easy to him and that he's just now coming to realize is a strength is his ability to lead and cooperate with a team. Up until very recently, Jaune put everyone else first at the very detriment of his own well being -- even going so far as to tell Cinder that she could kill him as long as the others survived.

On that note, Jaune is just a very good person. Sure, he's done some bad things (cheating to get into Beacon, stealing an air ship from a military base), but ultimately he takes these actions for the greater good. He cannot fathom people like Cinder who are cold and cruel for no real reason other than what seems to be their personal gain. Jaune will always help others and put their needs before his own.
⯌ Moral Codes - Jaune believes in helping others and doing the best he can. If he disagrees with a rule or law, he's not necessarily going to follow it, and above all else the people close to him in his life are the ones most important.
⯌ Insecurity/Fears - While he has come a long way from the boy who lied his way into Beacon, Jaune still feels like he is behind his peers sometimes. However, it's not that he's just insecure with himself, he's still afraid that his lack of experience and ability is going to get his team killed. While he'll no longer throw himself recklessly into battle, it's because he knows that will only cause his friends to worry about him. After losing Pyrrha, he's really not sure he can handle losing anyone else -- something he has openly broken down over when Weiss' life was on the line.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping:
⯌ Aura provides a boost to his defenses and strength and comes from his own soul -- everyone in his universe is able to use aura. Once it is depleted they become more vulnerable to attacks. Jaune is said to have a LOT of it.

⯌ Semblance | Aura Amplification Everyone has a different semblance in RWBY and Jaune's is the ability to amplify auras -- either his own or others. This can provide himself and others with extra protection and even healing capabilities. In order to do this he has to share his aura, but since he has a large reserve of it he tends not to worry about the ramifications. Amplification tends to accelerate healing or even another person's semblance. Basically he's a power boost.

⯌ Physical Abilities He is a trained Huntsman so he knows combat, mostly with sword/shield. He is very strong, though not as nimble or agile as some of his companions. He is a great dancer.

⯌ Weaknesses He gets motion sickness fairly easily, though has come a long way in terms of when he got the nickname "Vomit Boy."

⯌ Warping. For starters, Jaune's aura won't be nearly as strong as it was in canon -- fluctuating a lot or difficult to control/activate. In addition, instead of being an amplifier for people's auras/abilities, Jaune will now find that his semblance will leech power from others. This can take the form of leaving people drained of energy, causing their injuries to get worse, or making their abilities weaker. If he takes enough of someone else's aura, he may even temporarily gain their abilities -- but as a consequence they will be extremely tired.

Basically he's now Rogue from X-Men.

What themes of horror/psychological thrillers do you enjoy the most?: Monsters are my jam and about the only horror movie I can watch without hiding behind a couch. Yes, I'm the kind of person who cannot watch scary movies or play scary video games but I want to play in a horror RP -- I guess cause I'm in more control if I'm writing? It makes this question difficult to answer, but in the other game I'm in (also horror themes) I had fun with body transformations, memories/emotions manipulated or twisted, creepy spirits, and other supernatural aspects.

Abilities

⯌ Swordsmanship His weapon of choice is Crocea Mors a sword/shield combination that can be combined to make a bigger, heavier sword. They can also be used as a standard sword and shield.
